We stumbled across Amy B.’s blog, PositivelySplendid.com recently and had to share some of her clever DIY nursery crafts. For mamas-to-be who are currently in nesting mode, here are three easy projects you can incorporate into your nursery.

“Bee Happy” Pillow
How sweet is this “Bee Happy” pillow? We love the fun pattern and bright colors. Amy used custom piping to match the bedding in her son’s crib. “It’s the little touches that take a sewing project from ho-hum to fabulous,” she says.

Framed Chalkboard Birth Announcement
Not only is this framed chalkboard a unique way to display baby’s birth stats, it's also easy to make and inexpensive. To avoid buying a chalkboard, Amy made her own with chalkboard paint and pre-cut birch wood. She estimates that the entire project cost less than $10!

Custom Fabric Wall Decals
These wall decals are the perfect way to use scraps of fabric you have left over from baby’s bedding or curtains. “These took me a total of one hour to cut and hang,” says Amy. “But the personality they add to the space is huge.” Amy’s secret? She used spray starch to adhere the fabric to the walls—it’s temporary and the decals can be easily removed if you want to change the room’s décor later on.

The Finished Result!
"This space was a true labor of love," says Amy. "With the exception of a handful of elements, everything was sewn, crafted or redone with my own two hands."
