We’ve been seeing Tangerine Tango, Pantone’s Color of 2012 everywhere lately. The key to using the bright, energetic hue in nursery decor is to balance it with a cooler color (like teal, turquoise or brown) or with neutral elements. Here are some ideas for incorporating the on-trend color into your little one’s nursery.

Teal and tangerine
How pretty is this beach-themed nursery from Project Nursery? To channel this look, mix tangerine with light teal and include beachy elements, like seashells and sea glass.

Tangerine accents
To add color without going overboard, this nursery (spotted on Design Sponge) uses neutral furniture with pops of tangerine in the crib bedding and picture frames. We love the idea of using one larger frame with baby's initial.
Colorful accessories can transform a neutral room. We love this look, especially the tangerine bookshelves and bird wall art with the turquoise vase. To see more photos from this nursery, visit Buy Modern Baby.
Tell us what you think! Do you like the color tangerine for a nursery?
I think having a tangerine nursery would be so bright and cheerful for baby. Plus there are so many modern furniture pieces now available in this color.
We painted my first daughters nursery tangerine. And I loved it. Her bedding and mobile were teal, and the furniture was white. We also had a huge decal of a tree in white, with a teal bird in it. I loved that room and was so sad when we moved.

I love that this is a great color for a baby girl’s nursery, without being the traditional pink.
