I think open shelves are fantastic and especially at the baby’s reach level. I know with my kids that the more they feel independent, they more they can reach what is at eye level, the more they play with their toys and read their books. Of course there is clean up time. It’s a work in progress. But what we try to do is clean up after you finish a task, or sing that song that every kid seems to know and helps in the whole process – “Clean up. Clean up. Every body do your share”…

omg I could never do open shelves! I’ve tried and with two kids and another on the way I just know the damage my beasts cause with them lol.

Organizing your nursery is important in so many ways. Cleanliness and babies safety are the ones that come to mind first, not to mentions a Mothers sanity. Nothing sets me off more then feeling like I am loosing control of the house and when things a picked up it is easier to relax. This is a great article!
