Or better yet - turn the TV/iPad/iPhone/computer off! Our 3 year old watches virtually no tv (except on occasional visits to my parents' house, which fortunately happen only a few times a year) and he sleeps great, always have. We made a commitment to keeping him screen-free (with the exception of Skype) for the first two years per the AAP recommendations, and frankly we've just never seen the need to plop him in front of the tv. Both my husband and I work full time at demanding jobs so when we're around, we'd like to be interacting. I'm sure it would be much tougher if one of us were home all day. I do think that I'd like to introduce him to Mr. Rogers, but we've been trying to keep him and his 1-year-old brother away from characters who may be on educational programs but are hugely used to market everything under the son to kids.

Or better yet - turn the TV/computer/iPhone/iPad off. Both my husband and I work full time at demanding jobs so when we're with our kids we want to maximize the time we spend interacting. Since we also have a 1-year-old who we want to keep from screens, the 3-year-old isn't likely to start watching much any time soon! Anyway, both kids are terrific sleepers.
