I’m glad I’m not the only one who wants kids that aren’t far apart. My baby girl isn’t even four months old yet and we just found pout we are expecting again. We are scared but very excited at the same time. I have always wanted to have at least 4 kids and have had this theory of having them while im young so that me and my husband will be able to have our time together after the kids are grown and still be young enough to do fun things.

I don’t think you’re crazy at all…however I find toddlers very much harder to deal with than newish babies that don’t really ‘do’ much. And that’s what you may have; a toddler and a newborn! It’s something I’ve also let myself in for it, albeit a happy surprise. So good luck but I think I’ll need plenty of it too!

I just told my husband yesterday that as soon as the doctor gives us the OK, we are TTC again…my son is four weeks old. Thankfully he agrees!

Definitely not crazy. We have a 17 month old, a 1 month old, and are ttc #3.

I now wish I did have two under two so I could get the sleepless nights and nappies out of the way and continue studying. My daughter is now 20months and we have been trying to concieve for the last two months so fingers crossed it happens soon!

I loved reading your story. I was 34 when I had my first one, my second arrived 13 mos later, my third 15 months after that. I have three beautiful little boys and I couldn’t be happier. Yes, I did this on purpose. Yes, it was hard at times. There were days when all I did was walk the floor holding one or more of them. I got nothing done around the house. My oldest was teething and my second one had colic. I would do it again in a heartbeat. My friends and family thought I was crazy for having three that close together but my boys are inseparable…wonderful together. They won’t always need me as much as they do right now. If I had a dime for every time someone looked at me and said, “My! You’ve got your hands full.” I’d be a wealthy woman. It sounds like you’ve got your plan. Don’t worry about what anyone else thinks. It’s your life. We’re trying for our 4th and maybe I’ll get my little girl this time. This will be our last child. I’ve always thought 4 was the perfect size family, too. Good luck!

Not crazy at all. Every family is different and what every couple can handle is different. I firmly believe that the choice of how many kids to have and when to have them is between couples. My DH and I decided to have our first 2 children a year apart. We started trying when DD was 2 mths old. We where delighted to find out we where 6wks pregnant at my DD 4mth check up. This pregnancy has had complications and my 1st didn’t. OB says its b/c my body didn’t have a chance to re-coop from 1st pregnancy. This time I developed PE & was on BR for 3wks & now HBR 1wk. I had SVT episode while in hospital so now we are delivering @ 37wks instead of 38wks. Tomorrow we start the induction. If all goes well DS won’t need to spend time in NICU. My DD is 11mths old & DS will be newborn. Some people say we’re crazy but we say we’ve been blessed. I shared my story w/ you so you’d be prepared for complications if they come. Given your advanced maternal age you are already at increased risk for PE, & having 2 so close together also puts you at higher risk. So be prepared. I’m 27 & I got PE. Good luck.

you will never regret it! your kids will be friends forever. it may be hard the first few years, but it is much easier for them to all be in the same “zone” than to have a straggler in diapers when the other siblings are riding rides at Disneyland.

you aren’t crazy at all, my mom had her first 4 children in 6 years, and went on to have a total of 8 children in 18 years. Myself, I am only 26, but we are due with #4 in October and I wouldn’t have it any other way! My oldest just turned 5, and there was 14months then our son, then 26 months and. then our 2nd daughter…she will be 20months when our 2nd son. is. born I love every Insane moment of it!

My brother and I are 3 years apart. I got lucky and had twins on my first pregnancy so having two who just turned 1 is amazing, a little bit of work but totally worth it! Yes, I too think buying stock in wipes and diapers is not a bad idea ;o)
