I have a one year old AND a child with autism. If we ever get the courage to take a flight (it’s not about fear of flying, but fear of mean people) I am totally going to try this idea. I am more concerned about how strangers would react to my eight year old who quote “should know better” about behavior on a plane than how my toddler’s actions would be perceived. I’ve heard some really bad stories from parents who have been met with great hostility from people who do not understand that our children are not brats who are misbehaving. This idea will be shared! I know I worried and stressed over the first flight with my daughter and tho she turned out to be a fabulous flyer it could have easily gone the other way. I think this was a great way to kind of disarm people and take the edge off. Way to go mom & dad. Maybe it’s a little much but still really cute and sweet. These are obviously thoughtful and courteous people. A rarity these days!

(Here comes the “but”) BUT if people are not compassionate enough to understand how difficult it is to fly with one (let alone two) infants they certainly don’t deserve to be given gifts from already over-worked, exhausted people. The only time I get annoyed on flights is if the parent clearly is allowing the kids to use the plane as their play area and doesn’t do a dang thing to try to keep them under control. But infants crying? Sorry buddy: mommy isn’t a fan, either. Bring your own ear plugs if you don’t deal well with noise on flights
