Pink Says She Breastfeeds in Public and Will Fight Someone Who Stands In Her Way
Photo Credit: ZimbioWhen it comes to celebrity moms, and celebrities in general, there’s no one else quite like Pink. The sassy singer isn’t afraid to speak her mind, and that’s one of the things we love about her. This week, she took her no-filter attitude to talk about an issue that’s important to mom: breastfeeding in public.
During an appearance on the U.K.’s The Alan Carr Chatty Man Show, Pink discussed the controversial topic and how she’s handled those who frown on it.
“The first time we went out to a restaurant, there was a guy who walked by,” she recalls. “I had a cover on called a Hooter Hider, and this guy walks by and was like, ‘Ughhh.’ He was just disgusted.”
Of course, the mother to 15-month-old Willow wouldn’t let this onlooker get off without a little confrontation.
“I was like, ‘You didn’t get enough hugs when you were little.’” she said, “‘You are starting fights in restaurants.’ I said ‘I will… I will fight.’”
Despite Pink’s trouble-making tendencies (I mean, this was the woman who devoted a whole music video to bashing pop-stars), she says she doesn’t do this cause a scene. She does it for her daughter.
“I think breastfeeding is healthy and natural and it’s a comfort to my baby, so I can give a sh*t what somebody else thinks,” she said on the show.
Oh behalf of public breastfeeders, we salute you Pink!
What do you think of Pink’s stance on breastfeeding in public? Have you ever encountered controversy over the way you feed baby?

go pink!!
Love this!!
Fantastic!
I live in Colorado which is a very accepting state when it comes to breastfeeding. I breastfed my older son until 13months when he weaned himself and currently breastfeed my 5mo-old. However, when LOwas born (5 weeks early) he has some difficulty feeding so I pumped and fed him from a “preemie” bottle. I got tons of looks and comments from people about BOTTLE feeding! Now he’s able to nurse without complications, but it just proved to me that people interject their opionions on feeding babies regardless of knowing any background. People need to realize that babies need to eat (in public) and whether breast or bottle that mom is choosing what she thinks is best for her baby
You are very right!
I agree with you. It is up to the motherr on when and where she choses to feed her child breast or bottle. i have a two yr old whom i did not breastfeed but am fixing to have a son whom i am, and if he gets hungry in public and i don’t have milk pumped and with me i will chose to feed him where ever i am so that he does not go hungry.
you go girl!!!
you go girl!! fav artist because she does stand up for herself.
I love how she, like so many other moms, are amazing and willing to stand up for their babies’ rights to FEED in public!! People who look down on it are just so ignorant to it…it really is a shame. I think it should be publicized so much that it becomes as common as wearing clothes!!! There is nothing shameful or wrong about nursing. It is NATURAL and so very special!!
I agree with Pink.
i love this!! if your baby is hungry you whip out your boobie and feed him/her your not gunna sit there and fumble with a bottle or tell the baby “sorry cant feed you right now we are in public” so people who dis mommies for feeding there babies are just jelly ’cause they dont get any boobie action! GO PINK I LOVE YOU!!
Amazing! This makes me love Pink even more.
She is sooooo cool …
Way to go pink! She wasn’t in the wrong at all, she was covered up and wasn’t showing her cleavage. Every woman has a right to do what they need to feed their baby and people shouldn’t get nasty with them. If they went through all the labor and pregnancy they would maybe understand how important it is to take care of a baby in public or anywhere else.
I wish more people were ok with breast feeding. I think it’s ridiculous to feel bad about feeding your baby. It is the most natural and healthy thing. I don’t. Get the phobia. We can have half naked women walking around and no one says anything but stick a baby on that same boob and some people cringe. HELLO people that’s why god put th there!!!!
I live in a small town in North Carolina and I am terrified of breast feeding in public. I think it shouldn’t be an issue but unfortunately it is. I get flack from people for not feeding my daughter from a bottle already. She is a month old and I exclusively breastfeed. I wouldn’t dare in public here but if I was home in Nevada I would have no issue with it. Unfortunately just because you believe in something doesn’t mean you want to be bullied over it. Sad but… I guess I am just not as confrontational as Pink. Bless her I wish I was more like that.
