I think its also the major increase in abortions… People see killing their babies instead of having them

It will be interesting to see if the abortion rates have increased from 2008 to 2012. 1999-2008 abortion decreased according to the CDC.

There is an increase in birth rates for Asian women because this is the year of the water dragon, which comes once every 60 years and is considered one of the best years to have a baby.

Here in the UK, the recession has seen a babyboom but then the state feels it because maternity benefits are available in one form or another. The economy and how expensive it is! I would have 5 kids if I could, but to take leave, cloth, feed and keep kids involved in activities just adds up for what we are making these days.

Give us some PAID maternity leave and maybe we’ll see a boost in the figures. USA is totally behind on maternity leave.
