Wow, very expensive…just steam your food in a steamer basket and blend in mixer….
Exactly!!
I like the idea of making your own baby food but I’m not sure about the whole kit. I have a lot of it at home already.
I think this kit is good for moms like me who are self-professed non-cooks, don’t really know where to begin making foods for baby (or myself much of the time!) and don’t already have the proper tools on hand. I struggle constantly with ideas for new recipes even now that my kids are past baby food, and this cookbook is a great way to get inspired. I could totally see how more foodie mamas would likely already have a decent setup in the kitchen, though!
No cookbook required: either roast or steam the items, cool and puree in blender or food processor. I even have just mashed with a fork. Some more grainy items I pass through a sieve to smooth out the texture during the initial phase of introducing new foods. Seriously, moms, you don’t need a fancy kit. The companies that make money on selling these have a place in the market for moms who feel they can’t just do it themselves, but they have convinced moms that homemade is complicated and they make money off of that falsehood…it really is not!
