My husband and I are 3,000 miles away from our families and friends. We are all the way in Alaska, while our families are both in the Midwest. And my husbands job causes him to be away for weeks and possibly months at a time. But I don't feel like I don't have support, I like to think of it as long distance support. They call us and video call the baby and send us packages for her. It's hard on them because they all miss our little girl and want be around her. So instead of focusing on how lonely it is up here, I chose to focus on how lucky I am to get to spend each day with her. But as a SAHM, I think it's vital for me to set time a few days a week to call someone either my mom, my sister, my mother-in-law, anyone! It's the lack of non-babytalk conversations that get to me the most.
