My goal as a woman, wife and mother is to be a better version of myself every day-that goal is often not reached that regularly-and that has nothing to do with comparing myself to another mom with kids that are not mine. We moms are each uniquely skilled to raise our own children if we allow ourselves to discover those skills and hone them. Putting another mom on a pedestal won't work anyway, because she is not the mother of MY kids and therefore would probably not fare perfectly with them just as I would not be the perfect mom for her children. We need to focus on being better mothers comparing ourselves today with ourselves yesterday, and continually learning and moving forward.

I have a dear, dear friend who is awfully close to perfect. I fell in "friend-love" with her before she had kids so I had no idea how amazing she'd be.

Sometimes, I do find myself wishing that I could get it together and be more like her...
