Name Predictions for Kate Middleton and Prince William’s Baby

What will Kate Middleton and Prince William name their royal baby? We’ve got a few guesses!
Traditional royal names
Chances are, Will and Kate will go traditional — after all, this baby will one day be King or Queen of England! In other words, they’re likely use a traditional royal name. A few no-fail choices include:
George - George was the name of Queen Elizabeth’s beloved father, the king who led Britain through World War II.
Philip - Philip is the name of the baby’s great-grandfather, husband of the reigning queen.
Arthur - Queen Victoria had a son named Arthur. (And we keep thinking of The Sword and the Stone — love it!)
Elizabeth – Obviously, this is the current Queen of England and William’s grandmother. Bonus: Kate also has a grandmother named Elizabeth!
Victoria – Queen Victoria was one of the most famous queens in British history; she ruled through most of the 19th century. We like that there’s a lot of history with this name, but it still has a modern ring to it.
Not exactly royal but still solid choices
Diana – It seems like naming your baby after your late mom would be the traditional thing to do, but keep in mind that Diana isn’t a historically royal name. If it’s a girl, Kate and Will are more likely to use Diana as a middle name (royal babies often have three middle names), but they might choose to break tradition and make it a first name.
Spencer – If it’s a boy, this could be a nod to mom — her maiden name.
Caroline – This would be another cute, meaningful name for a girl. It’s a feminine version of Charles. Plus, Kate’s mother’s name is Carole.
A little off-beat
It’s less likely the couple will go off-beat with the baby’s name — so we’re not betting on any of these making the name list — but these are a few names with special significance to the couple that could be cute:
Andrews – They met at the University of St Andrews in Scotland.
Hope – The royal couple first lived together in a flat at 13A Hope Street at St. Andrews.
Abbey – They were married at Westminster Abbey in London.

Kate is a fabulous dresser, but more than the outfits that she’ll be wearing, I want to hear the names! I can’t imagine a King Spencer, but I like the name if I weren’t naming a future king!
I highly doubt we’ll see a child named Diana, Spencer, Andrews, Hope, or Abbey. Diana because the Queen gets last say, and I don’t think she’d go for it. The Royals don’t do surnames, so Spencer and Andrews are out. And finally, Hope and Abbey are just too “out there”. My vote is for a little Prince George or Princess Matilda.
Highly doubt the baby will be Matilda, as there will be a queen Mathilde of Belgium
Sarah Elizabeth Diana Victoria For A Girl and Edward Spencer William Charles
I hope it’s twins!!!!!
It wont be named Sarah, as that is Fergie’s name, and she is not popular within the royal family. D’uh!
It was WW II…
The parents will name their child without interference from the great grandmother. I doubt it will be any of those names, especially “Andrews” because the baby has an uncle named “Andrew” (Charles’ brother.) Who would have thought Diana & Charles would name their second son “Harry?” I do not think the baby will be named “Edward” either because Charles’ youngest brother is named “Edward.”
George was king during WWII, not WWI…
Thanks Megan and “just so you know.” I fixed that tidbit about King George!
Whether or not the Queen has right of approval, I don’t think the Cambridges would name the heir to the throne Diana because it might offend William’s grandmother and the pair are too kind to risk hurthing anyone when it might be avoided. Save Diana for the next child. That being said, I suggest Victoria Elizabeth Catherine for a girl and Philip Charles Albert for a boy. I’d wish I could be around for the coronation of Victoria II, but since I’m 61 years old, that is highly unlikely.
Good choices
I would love to see:
Victoria Elizabeth Charlotte
If it is a girl they might call her Elizabeth Diana and if it is a boy they might call him George Charles or Richard Charles.
If it is a boy, It would be nice to name Prince Richard Arthur William or Prince Arthur Richard William or Prince Raymond because these names are Great people name. Not so interesting to name Charles Philip Spencer Michael James Andrew Edwardt
It it is girl, then why not Princess Diana , let break the tradition, since Kate he’s been granted so much ‘break the tradition’. Surely th Queen n Prince Philip understand.
Victoria Catherine Elizabeth Diana are my predictions
