Toddler Heads Home for Holidays After Spending Entire Life in Hospital
Photo: NBC / The BumpChristmas came early for one adorable baby girl and her family this year! Adalynn Willett, 2, is coming home for the holidays for the first time since her birth, two years ago. Little Adalynn was born with a rare birth defect — her intestines and liver were outside of her body — and has endured 28 separate surgeries in a Texas hospital throughout the span of her life. Her parents and doctors were doubtful that she would ever be well enough to leave Cook Children’s Medical Center.
But doctors recently gave mom, dad, and their beautiful, inspiring little baby girl some good news: Adalynn is headed home for the holidays and for good, with the help of a feeding tube. Doctors predict that by the time she is old enough to attend school, she’ll be well on her way to leading a normal life.
Congratulations to Adalynn and the entire Willett family!
