6 Mommy Must-Haves to Stash In Your Diaper Bag
Lets face it, after having a baby mommy can start get stir crazy while being cooped up in the house in the cycle of nursing, changing, burping, napping and repeat. Suddenly a trip to the supermarket isn’t just a routine errand, it becomes an exciting adventure!
However when traveling with the baby and all of the gear that comes with the little one, often times the last thing you check is whether you have all of your things together. Handbag? Check. Baby bag? Check. Bottles, diapers, wipes, binky? Check, check, check! Keys, wallet, sunglasses? Yep, got ‘em. Once all is in the car, the baby wakes up just as the engine revs and you look in the rear view mirror only to realize that you don’t have any makeup on! And your hair isn’t brushed! The horror! It’s too much of a hassle to go back into the house or you might as well save the adventure out into the world until tomorrow. So, here’s what I won’t leave home without:
Sue Devitt Hydrating Marine Minerals Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15This Aussie has been a favorite to all the beauty brigade for some time now. It will not only give your skin much-needed protection from the sun and outdoor elements, but it will also provide even-tone coverage without looking like you put on a full face of makeup. Who's got time for that, right?
Shea Moisture Baby Head-To-Toe OintmentFrom chapped lips and chaffed baby bums to cracked cuticles and heels because you missed your regular mani-pedi appointment, this stuff is an all-in-one wonder. A small dab of this goes a long way. I find I use this stuff for myself more than on baby sometimes! It has Chamomile & Argan Oil in it so it also helps to soothe and settle your mood. A small dab can even be added to the ends of your hair to add shine and definition.
Burts Bees Tinted Lip BalmThis tinted lip balm is just enough to add that pop of glam to a busy mom. It is safe for mommy to give baby kisses as well since it is all natural. Plus it helps to moisturize your lips, which can sometimes get chapped and dry from dehydration and a lack of sleep.
Stylish ScarvesA scarf is the perfect bad hair day remedy or just an unexpected accessory to jazz up any outfit. The scarf doesn’t have to be a particular length, it just needs to feature bright fun colors or even a cheetah print. This sea foam color is the “it” shade for spring 2013. It will immediately transform your look from blah to bam!
Gimme Basics Bobby PinsKeep a handful of bobby pins in the bag. You never know when you need one: whether it is to pull back fly-aways or to wrap your hair in a bun, a girl always needs a bobby pin. You can even use it to secure the baby blanket when nursing in public. And with these fun monochromatic colors, you will be tapping into your inner trendsetter.
Umberto Dry Clean Dry ShampooIf your hair hasn't touched water in a couple days, don't panic this will become your best friend. You will have hair looking like you just stepped out of the salon with a sprinkle here and there at your roots.
