That is great that your experience was so positive and easier than your first child. I am in the opposite situation: my #1 was the 'easy' one. Number 2 doesn't need sleep, already has stopped napping regularly at almost-2 years old (actually stopped regular naps about 18 months) and wants me all the time. (It's a good thing, I make sure to tell myself.) Most moms I know say going from 1 to 2 is harder than going from 2 to 3, or even more, so you have a great situation! Enjoy it. Give yourself more credit, though: your interactions with your child do matter for their development. It's only that you can't control all of their development. As a former teacher, I just want to be sure that other parents don't read that last point as 'interactions don't really matter', because they really do play a part in your child's growth. What you do with your child and how much you do with your child is very important. All the best!

I'm in the beginning of my second pregnancy with a 2 1/2 year old in tow, and I did feel a sense of calm when I read the poisitve pregnancy test, mostly because I know what NOT to do. But these are a few things I didn't even think of! Great post!
