It’s nice to know I have two Keurigs attached to my body. My husband agrees. Breast feeding would have been much more difficult in the beginning without him. Like yours, he always responded to, “Babe, can you get me a glass of water?” “Babe, can you grab that pillow over there?” “Hey, Baaaabe, can you turn the t.v. down?” I remember our first nights in the hospital trying to breastfeed. He was right there peering down, troubleshooting with me when the latch didn’t seem right. Although, the downside…his solution to every baby tantrum? “Maybe you should give him your boob.” :)

You’re absolutely right in the fact that literature regarding breastfeeding too often omits the father’s role in supporting both mom and baby during those very critical first months.
