Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Royal Baby Name — ‘Revealed!’
Photo: Daily Mail UKHow’s this for a shocker: no one in England can keep a secret! Word on ole Trafalgar Square is that pregnant Kate Middleton and Prince William have decided a very regal, royal baby name!
Goodie, guys, because I was starting to believe that people in the royal inner circle were not going to let this one slip. Luckily, people are predictable and the details are out!
So, what are the Duchess of Cambridge and her doting daddy-to-be planning on naming their little girl? Aside from the fact that they’re supposedly calling the baby-to-be “Our Little Grape” (fun fact: chances are Will and Kate got the inspiration from the size of their baby in utero!) — they’re reportedly settled on a much more appropriate name for baby.
According to Lainey Gossip, the duo has chosen Elizabeth Diana Carole, which is a very beautiful nod to William’s grandmother, the Queen, Will’s late mother, Diana and Kate’s mom, Carole. Since the royal baby will be the future ruler of England, the name follows a very long lineage of English queens named ‘Elizabeth.’ Though the future King and Queen have not officially released details on baby’s name, we can only guess that this is correct — but from the looks of it, it looks pretty on point to us!
Personally, I think it’s the perfect combination of tradition, family and modernity — a full circle crowd pleasure! It’s sweet enough for a baby girl but strong enough to carry a future Queen. Thumbs up, royal couple! The Bump approves!
What do you think of their reported name pick?

Reblogged this on mackie abroad.
Princess William, Duchess Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, Duchess Catherine. I don’t believe she is Kate Middleton anymore.
No way that is the name.
Nice! When I was little, I wanted to name my daughter Elizabeth. I was adopted as an infant. I found my birthmom 12 yrs ago. She told me that if she would had kept me, she was going to name me Elizabeth. I think that’s cool.
Great Elizabeth is a lovely name for a new little girl named after Queen Elizabeth. Simply
lovely and perfect.
I agree completely…a beautiful name for the future Queen of England. That is so cool! God Speed Kate and Wills.
I really like the names, but I was hoping that they would have Margaret as one of them, after the Queen’s sister. They were so close and I think the Queen would have been pleased. But I guess it’s too late????
are you kidding me? lololol here’s to a happy and healthy baby and who cares what the child’s name is. you all really need to get your own lives and leave these people alone.
I agree with Alyne and Margret and Carla. Princess Diane Elizabeth Carole sound good. Doesn’t Prince William want the baby name after his Mom. I think that is much nicer name.
Diana Elizabeth Carole would’ve been nice tooo seeing as his mom knew she would never be Queen and now her grandaughter might be!!!!
I agree, Diana Elizabeth is MUCH better!
Yep Diana Elizabeth Carole sounds so much better and is much more a fitting name for this baby girl.
I agree, but the royal family would never allow that I am sure!
Are you mad???? A long line of queens named Elizabeth? What world do you live in you ridiculous person? There was Queen Elizabeth the 1st in Tudor times and now Queen Elizabeth the 2nd in the 21st cent. No one knows if this child is a boy or a girl only it’s family. I don’t even care but at least get the history right.
Please re-read the article. It didn’t say “Queen Regnant,” or “Queen Consort,” just “Queen.” As for prior queens of England, did you forget about Elizabeth of York (wife of Henry VII) and Queen Elizabeth, wife of George VI? They may have beeen Queen Consorts, not Queen Regnant, but they each had the title of “Queen.”
When it comes to “getting the history right,” you’re the one who needs to go back to school and stop being a “ridiculous person.” (Your words, not mine.)
i mean, technically, there have been other Elizabeths as Queen Consorts, Henry VII’s wife comes to mind. just two Queen Elizabeths who are queens in their own right.
I wonder why Carole couldn’t have been in the middle, because William’s family’s names are both first and second, putting Kate’s family name last. Her side of the family is just as worthy. At least put it in the middle.
Actually, I wonder why they didn’t leave it out altogether. It stands out like a sore thumb and doesn’t add anything to the cadence or flow of the names.
GAG !!!!!!!
I was hoping the first name would be Diana.
Kate is NO DIANA……NEVER WILL BE, SHE HAS NO STYLE AND DOUBT THIS MARRIAGE WILL LAST. tHE BABY SHOULD BE NAMED AFTER diana………NOT THE WOMAN WHO HATED HER
There would be a slight problem in bypassing the queen…..and the name Elizabeth has strong historical significance…..Also, Diana did some damage to her image with her association with Dodi……
Not feeling the name at all. I was a big fan of Diana but don’t feel that this name “flows”. Poor Diana and her boys: the media just won’t let her rest in peace. I can’t see William attaching the name of a dead mother to his daughter. I think this is all just a morbid fantasy by morbid people.
It’s “Thumbs up”, not “Thumps up.”
but………maybe they’re bunnies????
I THINK THIS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL NAME THEY COULD PICK, MY MOTHER’S NAME WAS ELIZABETH, MY FIRST DOLL WITH BLUE EYES THAT SHUT I NAME NANCY CAROL AND I THINK IT WAS SO WONDERFUL TO NAME HER AFTER HIS BEAUTIFUL MOTHER THE PRETTIEST ROYAL I’VE SEEN AND I I THOUGHT SHE DID SUCH A GREAT JOB RAISING HER BOYS.WILL ALWAYS LOVE HER.
I LIKE KATHERINE,ELIZABETH,DIANA,CAROLE FOR THE FIRST CHILD OF WILLIAM AND KATHERINE.
Only english people can be so stupid and pay taxes to support this whole “monarchy” circus…
Ah, yes and here in the good ole USA it is not a government for the people by the people…..but a governments run by fear of not being reelected and a government beholden to the lobbyists/special interests…..
Only english people can be so stupid and pay taxes to support this whole “monarchy” circus…I don’t know what’s dumber-that non-existent upper lip (no wonder Hugh Grant was looking for good bj’s outside of England!) or totally USELESS king and queen
With all the weird names celebs are using today, I think they’re right on with “our little grape.” Grape is good. Queen Grape I. Has a certain ring to it.
I think the name is appropriate, but there has always been a Queen Elizabeth. Why not have a Queen Diana Elizabeth, if Camilla had just not got her claws into Charles, there could have been a Queen Diana. Queen Elizabeth might have made him king, but not with Camilla around.
i love the name
what if its a boy?
What does it matter what they call their baby, thats there right just like everyone else that has named their baby. They might be royality but there human and have a right to their decission on the name. And think its very rude for people making bad comments on the subject. Would you of wanted someone making remarks about the name you picked out for your baby. It’s time you people grow up and have a life!!
nope. I think it will be a boy named Henry Philip Michael Charles.
Henry for Harry, Philip for his Grandad ( and him, its one of his names) Michael for her dad and Charles for his Dad.
Called Henry
If it were a girl I would Like Charlotte after Prince Charles
They can call her Lilibeth for short.
There has not been a “very long lineage of English queens named ‘Elizabeth”, there have been two.
gee;that will make her Queen Elizabeth III….I would of gone with Diana Elizabeth Carole…I think 2 Queens name Elizabeth is enough for a very long time…
I would take this with a grain of salt. I also read an article that said they have not told anyone the gender or what names they have considered. As far as this name its ok I don’t think it has the best flow personnel but it would have meaning.
I think it should be Elizabeth Helena Diana Carole
Helena was Queen Victoria’s Daughter. i think it’s a pretty name and she could go by Helena instead of one of the other three who are all their own people.
I FOURTH THE MOTION (since there are at least 4 people that directly chose Diana Elizabeth to be the baby’s name). Princess Diana (she will always be my princess or the world’s princess) had made one of the greatest impact in world history. She was beloved by all. No words could ever describe her uniqueness, her passion and her bravery. I am still saddened (and also the world) by the loss of such a very loveable and compassionate mother. PRINCE WILLIAM AND PRINCE HARRY WILL NOT BE WHO THEY ARE RIGHT NOW IF IT WASN’T FOR THEIR MOTHER PRINCESS DIANA WHO HAD REALLY MADE THE MOST IMPACT IN THEIR LIFES.
Well I’m proud of William and Kate for naming the baby after his Mom. Their will never be another Queen, Princess are anyone as beautiful as Princess Diana, she was also out going, friendly. Just see how they and by they the so called Queen grandmother handled her death. With remarks like she’s not apart of the Royal family. Well then your grandkids are only half of your family,so are they not a part to. and that’s a family you could not pay me to be in. I am so glad that Diana’s brother made the comments he did. Everyone blamed Diana, but it was Charles that couldn’t forget that HOLE in that corn- Hole &!*%. And Prince Charles Corn-hole wife needs to go back to the corn-hole! Diana was full of GRACE, LOVE, HOPE, Beauty, and Peace. Love the baby name just 1 suggestion why not Diana Elizabeth Carole. My Love and Prayers are with you William and kate.
A new father naming his daughter after his mother is not morbid. I wouldn’t describe it as being named after a “dead” mother but “his” mother. I wouldn’t blame him and it would be lovely of Katherine to do so if her husband wants to do that. As for ttokkyo, you’re the stupid one for thinking you can describe an entire nation of people as stupid. I don’t know if Elizabeth Dianna Carole is the chosen name, but if so, I think it’s beautiful. Much happiness to the entire family. It’s very unkind to criticize people’s choice of baby names.
Why can’t they name him Prince William the !!?
If it is truly to be a girl, what’s wrong with Diana after the Prince’s mother?
Really and Sure as God would have it be… let her be Christined Elizabeth, Diana, Carole, Katerine and maybe …”.Deborah”…for as ”Deborah”means the ”Honey Bee”. she will surely more than the Queen Honey Bee, be another God sent, extra-value Protective shield and covering for the British People, she will serve as an extra-value illustrous, industrious, producer and provider of Sweeter Healthier Sound sterling Food, Sweeter standards of Living of pound sterling wealth, Sweeter Monarch, and Sweeter Governance, Sweeter Monarchy, Sweeter Sustainable Development, sweeter moral upgrade, motivating the British people to imbibe a Sweeter virtue of excellence…just name it as God would be so Proud of His own Great Britain as he hears every Monday morning 5am thus:…”Join Elizabeth Diana,Carole, Katerine…Deborah on Good Morning Jesus from Buckingham Palace…The Angels in Heaven are getting ready to Trump for THE DCUHESS AND DUKE OF CAMBRIGDE-Kate and William Windsor’s First Born, ….and get her dedicated to Jehovah God for she is God’s First Fruit, Halleluyah…Jehovah God Commands this ordinance in the Holy Scriptures

What a beautiful name
I knew that the middle name was going to be Will’s mother’s name. My daughter’s name is Elizabeth.
I don’t know why, but for some reason I thought they might name her Grace. Grace Elizabeth would work, and maybe leaving off the Diana Carole part. Of course this IS royalty so I suppose they could keep Diana Carole too, just put it on the end. With Grace she would have her own name first. Best wishes for a happy, healthy baby no matter what they name her. (Then there’s always my name, not too many Senrys running around out there! HaHa!)
If the baby is indeed a girl, her first name should be Diana bumping Elizabeth to one of the middle names!
I like the name, but I think they should have it Diana Elizabeth Carole. In memory of William’s Late mother.
I’m sure, like most parents they’ll change their minds a dozen times before the birth. Just let them enjoy this time without so many assumptions.
STRANGE OF HER TO BE DRESSING LIKE A HOOKER – OR IS IT ?
I want another Henry! King Henry IX.
I would be pretty sure that the name ‘Diana’ is likely to be in there somewhere, when the baby is finally named.
