HBO Film: First Comes Love — Get Free Tickets to the Screening in NYC!
What if you captured every big moment from the day you started trying to conceive to your first year as a parent on video? It would be some pretty exciting footage, huh? But still maybe not as dramatic as Nina Davenport’s story. The filmmaker created the new HBO documentary, First Comes Love, along her journey from a single, 41-year-old woman to a new mom.
With help from her best friend (turned birth coach) and a gay friend (turned sperm donor), Nina gets pregnant (on the first try with IVF!) and goes through quite the emotional roller coaster ride after that — Nina starts serious dating a new boyfriend who’s forced to become a father figure, and has to confront her rocky relationship with her own father. There are are plenty of funny moments along the way, too.
This might not be as personal as your own pregnancy story is to you, but it certainly will keep you glued to the screen!
Want to see this candid look at pregnancy in the 21st century? Well, if you live in the New York City metro area, you’re in luck, because we’re giving away 10 free tickets to the screening of First Comes Love this Tuesday, July 23 at 6 p.m. in NYC. RSVP by email with your full name to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you’re selected to attend, you’ll receive a confirmation by email.
