The Van Der Beek bunch are about to add one more to the mix!  Kimberly announced today on her blog, Old School New Rules, that she and her husband, James , are expecting their third child together this winter! In an interview with People after confirming the happy news, three-time daddy-to-be said, “I feel ridiculously blessed. I feel so much love, honestly.”

Kimberly admits that the pregnancy took her by surprise. Though the couple wasn’t trying to prevent a pregnancy (Kim said, “We are letting Mother Nature decide,” while James added, “There are ways to prevent these things from happening — we don’t do any of those things.”), they certainly weren’t planning on it, either.

Just before the foursome was to head out on a month-long trip to visit friends and family across the country, Kimberly took a pregnancy test just to be sure that was she was feeling — “moody and exhausted” — was in fact, pregnancy symptoms. When the test came back positive — they were expecting — they’d planned on keeping the news a secret, much to no avail. “My mom knew,” said James. Kimberly added, “She just had a feeling. She even wrote down what she thought would be a due date. Some people knew — my friends call me every pregnancy and say they had a dream that I was pregnant.”

As they prepare for life with three kids under four (their oldest daughter, Olivia , is almost three and their son, Joshua , is 17 months) three-peat daddy James says, “I was told two was three times as hard as one, and that three is actually not as big of a leap. If anybody knows otherwise, I’m going to ask them not to tell me.” His wife, Kimberly, feels the same way, adding, “How do you prepare for three kids? We only have two arms each, so I don’t know how it will go. I just think we are going with the flow of it.”

And don’t plan on any big gender reveals in their future, either. The parents plan to keep the news a surprise. "I never really had a preference with either one of the first two,” says James. “We already have all the stuff for girls and boys, so there is no logistical reason for me to know, so we thought it would be fun to … do it old school.

Congratulations to the whole Van Der Beek bunch on the exciting news!
