The CPSC, in conjuction with the Manhattan Group, have announced a voluntary recall on over 8,300 US and 4,100 Canadian Manhattan Toy Quixel Baby Rattles. The rattles were recalled because the colored arches can break exposing smaller beaded parts, posing a choking hazard to small and young children. To date, the Manhattan Group has received four separate reports of the rattles breaking, but thankfully no serious injuries have been reported.

The recalled plastic rattles have four different colored arches (blue, green, orange and red) with sliding beads attached to each end. The arches are all held together by a single string of red, white and blue elastic. “Manhattan Toy” printed on the sides of one of the colored arches. The product was sold both in and out of a box at specialty toy and baby stores nationwide and in Canada. They were also sold online through Manhattan Toy from September of 2011 through October of 2013 for just about $15.

If you own the recalled product stop using it immediately and keep it out of reach of small children. You can return it to the store you purchased from for a full refund.
