Hamilton Beach has recalled about 3,900 of their bébé brand baby food makers, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. The recall comes after four reports of the stainless steel pin in the food bowl lid becoming loose, three in which the pin fell into the food. While this certainly presents a choking hazard, no injuries have been reported.

The food processor being recalled has a white and gray motor base and an orange control knob, and was sold from September 2013 through February 2014. About 790 were sold in the US, and 3,100 in Canada.

If you own this product, immediately stop using slicing/shredding disc, and contact Hamilton Beach to receive a free replacement food bowl lid, motor shaft adapter and slicing/shredding disc. You can either call the company at (800) 672-5872 Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET, or visit their recall page for more information.

The good news: In the meantime, you can actually still use the baby food maker for steaming, chopping and pureeing.
