Actress and mom-of-two Drew Barrymore doesn’t try to be perfect — she’s refreshingly, hilariously real. She opened up about her personal beauty truths in the April issue of Glamour, casually chatting about her postbaby body, her go-to products and the secret to loving every selfie.
“After making two babies, holy cow, does your body do some crazy stuff!" Barrymore told the magazine. “It’s hard to stay positive and love yourself. You feel like a kangaroo with a giant pouch; everything’s saggy and weird.”
So how does the 40-year-old actress, who welcomed a second daughter last April with husband Will Kopelman, keep it all in perspective?
“You think about how beautiful it is that you’re able to make children,” she said. "When I lose sight of that, I exercise, read Dr. Seuss’s Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, and spend time with my kids. Then I start to see things that are bigger than myself.”
Barrymore is also the proud owner of Flower Beauty, a cosmetics line that offers high-quality products at affordable prices (they’re available at Walmart). But she’s not afraid to go barefaced — even on social media. Her secret to flawless selfies? Embrace your flaws.
“You don’t always have to look stunning on Instagram," the actress said. "I’ve been makeupless, pregnant, and stuffing food in my face in many pictures; that makes it all the more exciting when I do do something more attractive. I don’t like it when everyone looks so perfect all the time. Where’s the humor in that?”
