Prime members, rejoice: get ready for Amazon-branded baby food, milk and cereal.
Like many stores, the online retailer is expanding its private-label brand, Elements. The line of everyday essentials is available exclusively to Prime members, who pay $99 a year for perks like free two-day shipping. While Elements began with diapers and baby wipes (only wipes are still on the market), it’s added everything from coffee to dog food and cleaning products to the lineup.
The Wall Street Journal reports that private-label food manufacturer TreeHouse Foods Inc. may head up production of the new food.
Add this to the list of ways Amazon is working to adapt to family needs. Earlier this month, the company dropped “boys” and “girls” from its primary filtering options on the Toys & Games page, appealing to more and more demands from parents to de-gender playtime.
