The Pitch Perfect and Hunger Games actress welcomed baby #2, son Magnus Mitchell via gestational surrogate with husband Max Handelman!

Elizabeth announced the news on her website today:

“As 2012 winds down and Thanksgiving approaches, I have much for which to be thankful – personal, professional, and Presidential. However, nothing can match the joy and excitement my husband and I felt when we recently welcomed our second baby boy, Magnus Mitchell Handelman.

This experience has exceeded all expectations, taught us a great deal about generosity and gratitude, and established a relationship that will last a lifetime. . . . I now turn my attention to managing two boys under two. For which I am thankful. And all their poop. For which I am less thankful. Wish me luck.”

Magnus joins older brother Felix, who was born in March 2011, also via gestational surrogate. Elizabeth and Max have been married since 2003.

Congrats to the happy couple!

For our latest Instagram Challenge, we want to see your Halloween pictures — whether you’re dressing up baby or decorating your bump!

The best part? One lucky Bumpie will win four tickets to her local Bring Your Baby Matinees! This month, we’re showing the movie Fun Size on Tuesday, November 6th at AMC Theatres across the country. If you’re not familiar with our matinees, they’re a great way to spend a fun day out with other parents in a breastfeeding-friendly atmosphere, a theater with brighter lights and lower volume, stroller parking and crying babies allowed! (Find out if there is a participating theater near you here.) We’ll select a random winner from all of the entries and contact them on Instagram.

How it works:

From today until midnight EST on Thursday, November 1, upload your favorite Halloween photos on Instagram with the hashtag #TheBumpHalloween. Make sure you include both the hashtag and @thebump so we can see it. (Need some inspiration?
How to make the costume:

EmpireMomof3 used the “no-sew tutu” technique to create the skirt with black, brown, teal and sparkly royal blue tulle tied onto a 3/4 inch elastic. Measure the elastic around the waist for sizing, then tie or sew the ends together. To make things easier and faster, the tulle can be wrapped around a book and cut on one end to make even strips.

Tie the tulle strips to the elastic. Once finished, taper the sides with scissors so they are long in the back and short in the front.

Using hot glue, attach the peacock feathers to the royal blue ribbon, then tie the ribbon around the elastic. This is the trickiest part of the costume: Make sure the feathers are spread evenly along the tail area (you might try to lay them out before gluing).

Finally, hot glue more peacock feathers to the headband.
