On Wednesday, Johnson & Johnson announced a plan to remove to multiple chemicals from its line of personal care products by the end of 2015. For years the company, as well as other brands, received flack for putting questionable ingredients into their products, which include which produces baby care, acne cream, and anti-wrinkle lotions.

This is just part of Johnson & Johnson’s effort to make more eco-friendly products. In November 2011, the company made a pledge to remove 4-dioxane and quaternium-15 from all baby products by 2013, as the two chemicals could potentially cause cancer. The new effort will extend to all Johnson & Johnson product lines. As part of the plan, Johnson & Johnson will work to remove formaldehyde and phase out other harmful ingredients like phthalates (found in hairspray and fragrances) and triclosan (an anti-bacterial substance in soaps).

Susan Nettesheim, vice president for product stewardship and toxicology for Johnson &Johnson, notes that this change is important to the company. “There’s a very lively public discussion going on about the safety of ingredients in personal care products,” she said in an interview with New York Times. “It was really important that we had a voice in that.”

How do you feel about the company’s pledge? Do you think other companies should follow?

Did you know your baby could fail a drug test? Researchers at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill noticed that a high number of babies in their nursery tested high for cannabis (aka THC) in drug tests and theorized that shampoos and washes may be triggering the positive results. Turns out, after they tested a few brands, they do!

Freaked out? Don’t be. According to Time Healthland, the shampoos and washes don’t actually have marijuana in them. Rather, certain other ingredients in the washes, including polyquaternium-11 and cocamidopropyl betaine, mess with the test, triggering a false positive. Baby won’t get intoxicated or exhibit symptoms of marijuana exposure because of her shampoo (sigh of relief).

The whole point of the study was to see if children in child welfare cases could test positive for THC since their parents could be wrongly accused of exposing them to drugs. Timesays products that showed positive results include Johnson & Johnson’s Bedtime Bath, CVS Night-Time Baby Bath, Aveeno Baby Soothing Relief Creamy Wash and Aveeno Baby Wash & Shampoo.Plus, more from The Bump:

How can you get baby in and out of the tub—without tears? Try these tips from users on our message boards.

User frankie119 says the best trick to helping baby love bath time is to make sure he never gets cold. “We put a space heater in the bathroom on 80 degrees so it’s warm when he gets out,” she says. If you don’t have a space heater, try user 54hj96er34ws’s method. “My fiance or I take a shower first so the bathroom is nice and steamy,” she says.

For a happy transition into the tub, the extra warmth of a towel or washcloth on baby’s skin can make adjusting to the water easier. “We have a body towel that we drape on top of him to keep his chest warm,” says frankie119. “It’s shaped to fit perfectly around his neck, across his sides, and down to his legs.” Skin-to-skin contact can also do the trick. “I usually keep one hand on him and wash with the other,” says user Lollilately.

To get baby out of the tub without tears, make sure he stays as warm as possible. Lollilately lays a towel on her son’s bouncer next to her before bath time. That way, he can go straight from the water to the towel. “I also lay another towel on his changing pad so he has a dry one when I get there, because by that time the other one is damp,” she says. “I use a lot of towels, but my son screams less!”

Did any of these tricks work for you? How do you get baby to enjoy taking a bath?
