Today is basically the best day of my life. Curious as to why? Well, my girl Beyonce is dishing on her high profile career, her work and her favorite role, mommy to baby beauty Blue Ivy Carter. A day that involves writing B is single-handedly the best day E-V-E-R.

As we all know, Bey keeps it pretty low key. She’s never one to divulge too much and it makes us all the more eager to stalk out find out everything there is to know about her. She’s the most iconic star of our time, with influential music that spans across the pop, hip-hop, rap and R&B industries and a gazillion trophies to prove it. She’s a successful designer, her House of Dereon line has given new life to fashions for women of all shapes and sizes. She’s also an entrepreneur, proud wife to her husband, Jay Z and most recently, a mom. You can’t escape Beyonce. She is everything. Everywhere. So seriously, the fact that she is opening up the door to her private life in this month’s edition of GQ is both breathtaking and magical. I want to cry tears of joy and simultaneously hug myself.

So, now that I’ve finished up my ode to Beyonce, lets move on to watch the songstress is saying about her career and her lovable role as mommy. Bey says that right before she gave birth to Blue, she felt “lost” in her career. She says, “I love my job, but it’s more than that: I need it.” A lot of mothers can relate, too. It’s not totally out of the box that a woman still desires her career in addition to motherhood.

And Bey’s dedication to her career isn’t just a 9-5 thing. But neither is her commitment to her growing girl, who just celebrated her first birthday on January 7th. Since her daughter’s birth, Beyonce has taken a hiatus from her music. “I worked so hard during my childhood to meet this goal: By the time I was 30 years old, I could what I want. I’ve reached that. I feel very fortunate to be in that position. But I’ve sacrificed a lot of things, and I’ve worked harder than probably anyone I know, at least in the music industry. So I just have to remind myself that I deserve it.”

While the Northeast braced for snow, wind and bitterly cold temperatures, Beyonce, Jay Z and adorable baby Blue kept it real cool, setting sail aboard some beautiful boat to a getaway on some beautiful island. We’re over here like Hey! Can we get an invite!? (But seriously — can we?)

All jealousy aside, there’s a whole lot of loving going on in this photo. Looks like mama’s little girl has already learned to pucker up for the cameras. Even though B is always one to share candid, personal photos documenting her life, music and (more recently!) her growing girl, we just can’t seem to get enough. Blue Ivy Carter celebrated her first Christmas this year and soon enough we’ll all be saying ‘Bottoms Up!’ to celebrate Blue’s first birthday, on January 7.

This year has definitely been a year of firsts for Bey and her leading man, who dubbed their daughter’s birth the “best experience of our lives”. Since welcoming their little bundle in style, B has been committed to spending time with Blue and Jay even penned a song about his girl. The cuteness! Gah!

In an interview with Cleveland’s z107.9, (which started off politically focused but somehow veered off course), when asked, “What does the POTUS talk to Jay-Z and Beyonce about?” the President answered:

“We talk about the same things I talk about with all my friends. We talk about kids. They just had a new baby and they’ve got a new daughter, and I made sure that Jay-Z was helping Beyonce out and not leaving everything to mom and the mother-in-law.”

It’s baby’s first splurge!

According the Daily Mail, this week, Beyoncé received a pair of sneakers for eight-month-old Blue Ivy — that reportedly cost about $800. Designed specifically for Blue Ivy, the baby booties are adorned with an abundance of amethyst Swarovski crystals.

To us, it’s not clear whether Beyoncé actually bought the shoes, or if they were a gift from the designer, but the singer’s catching a lot of flack from it — some media outlets are writing jabbing titles such as “Beyonce Drops $800 On Shoes For The Not-Yet-Walking Blue Ivy”.

However, this is not Blue Ivy’s first pair of designer footwear. The baby already has a collection that rivals Imelda Marcos, complete with Jeremy Scott x Adidas J Wings and Marc Jacobs Mouse Ballet Flats, say some reports.

Congrats to Beyoncé — she was crowned PEOPLE’s 2012 World’s Most Beautiful Woman. The 16-time Grammy Award winner gushed to PEOPLE about her new role as mom to almost four-month-old, Blue Ivy, “I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth. I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth.”

And while the accomplished singer and actress has a lot to be proud of, she’s still in awe of her new daughter, she told the magazine, “The best thing about having a daughter is having a true legacy. The word ‘love’ means something completely different now.” Fans of Beyoncé (like us!) shouldn’t worry about waiting for a while to hear new music from the singer, the hot mama will return to the stage in Atlantic City during Memorial Day weekend.

Beyoncé wasn’t the only celeb mom who was featured in this year’s Most Beautiful issue: Michelle Williams, Angelina Jolie, Paula Patton, Charlize Theron and Jessica Alba all made the cut. The issue hits newsstands this Friday.
