When she started planning her nursery, Bumpie Jenna H. didn’t know her baby’s gender, which made getting started a little difficult. “I wanted our baby’s nursery to be fun, playful and practical,” she says.

As she looked for inspiration, “I landed on a design from a lion poster I loved.” The yellow, white and brown print (which can be seen in the back of the nursery) helped shape Jenna’s vision for this whimsical, gender-neutral room.

This gender-neutral Parisian nursery was uploaded on The Bump Real Nursery Gallery by blogger Sisteroo. And while it looks completely professional, Sisteroo and her husband DIY-ed the entire nursery themselves — down to the tiniest details.

“We spent a good part of the last two months nailing, caulking, sanding, painting, upholstering, sewing, spray painting, decoupaging and glue gunning ourselves into complete DIY exhaustion,” she says.

The result? “A darling French-style gray and orange nursery that reminds us of our honeymoon in Paris.”

7 Crafts to Decorate Your Nursery

On Thursday, October 18, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Trend Lab recalled over 16,000 Trend Lab Children’s Upholstered Chairs. The recall comes after reports that staples in the binding on the back of the chair can come loose, posing a laceration and choking hazard.

The recalled chairs were sold online at Trend-Lab.com, Amazon.com, BabiesRUs.com, Target.com, Walmart.com and Seussland.com, as well as at Buy Buy Baby and other specialty stores from November 2007 to August 2012 for about $100 to $140.

Sold in Club style and Mod style, the recalled chairs are 24-inches wide, 18-inches tall and 17-inches deep. The Club style chairs come suede,velour, and print fabrics brown, pink, blue, red, avocado green, turquoise blue, and chocolate dot in pink or blue. The Mod style chairs come in dark pink or zebra-printed velour in chocolate on blue or pink; or on printed fabric of chocolate stripes on pink or blue.

The Trend Lab name is on a label, and is attached on the bottom of the chair with date codes TL1007C through TL0812C, which are read as TL two-digit month and two-digit year followed by C. Date codes from 10/07 to 08/12 are included in the recall. All chairs were sold with matching ottomans, which are not part of the recall. New chairs with “Remedy 2012” stamped in ink on the bottom side of the chair are not subject to this recall.

If you own this chair, stop using it immediately and contact Trend Lab for a repair kit with instructions.
