Proud new mama Kara DioGuardi has had so much to celebrate lately! The famous songwriter welcomed her adorable baby boy Greyson James Carroll with husband Mike McCuddy on January 31, via a gestational surrogate.

After baby boy was welcomed into the world, mom and dad began the next adventure — and no, we’re not talking about parenthood! The first-time parents had to take their little guy, who was born in California, back home to the backwoods of Maine, where they live!

The adorable family of three headed cross country on their drive back east in none other than a mini-van! Kara tweeted, “made it to NY from California in four days. Gotta love a mini van. I never thought I’d say love and minivan in the same sentence.” Well, looks like there’s a first time for everything!

Even though mama has had her hands full traveling from west to east coast and bonding with her newest addition, she found time to share this adorable photo with the world and I’ve got to hand it to her and her husband — looks like baby got the best of both genes! What a cutie!

Congratulations to mom, dad and beautiful baby boy Greyson James! Welcome to the world (and to Maine!)!

The Pitch Perfect and Hunger Games actress welcomed baby #2, son Magnus Mitchell via gestational surrogate with husband Max Handelman!

Elizabeth announced the news on her website today:

“As 2012 winds down and Thanksgiving approaches, I have much for which to be thankful – personal, professional, and Presidential. However, nothing can match the joy and excitement my husband and I felt when we recently welcomed our second baby boy, Magnus Mitchell Handelman.

This experience has exceeded all expectations, taught us a great deal about generosity and gratitude, and established a relationship that will last a lifetime. . . . I now turn my attention to managing two boys under two. For which I am thankful. And all their poop. For which I am less thankful. Wish me luck.”

Magnus joins older brother Felix, who was born in March 2011, also via gestational surrogate. Elizabeth and Max have been married since 2003.
