What’s the best baby bump cover-up? A bikini and a killer set of abs. At least, that seemed to work for three-time Olympic gold medalist Kerri Walsh Jennings.

This morning, the volleyball player and her husband, Casey Jennings, announced on Today that they are expecting their third child. “When I was throwing my body around fearlessly, and going for gold for our country, I was pregnant, and today I’m 11 weeks pregnant,” Kerri said during her interview.

The Olympian wasn’t aware of her pregnancy going into the 2012 London Games. Although she and her husband were trying to conceive prior to the Olympics, they didn’t think it would happen so fast. While competing, Kerri said she felt extra ”moody and touchy,” and had noted that her period was four days late. Her teammate Misty May-Treanor joked that the 34-year-old may be pregnant. It turns out, she was right.

Despite the physical strain Kerri put on herself in the Olympics, it didn’t have a negative affect on the pregnancy. Dr. Nancy Snyderman, NBC’s chief medical editor, says, “the risk that she put to herself and fetus was zero to none.”

Kerri was not the only pregnant Olympic athlete. Nur Suryani Mohamed Taibi, an air rifle shooter from Malaysia, was seven months pregnant during the games.

The baby is set to arrive in April 2013, joining and Kerri and Casey’s two sons  Joey, 3, and Sundance, 2.
