While the paparazzi has snapped a few shots of Kristin Cavallari and her six-week-old son Camden James, the new mom kept her baby covered and away from the camera. Until now.

Kristin and Camden  posed for the latest issue of People, and the two look happy and healthy. During the shoot, the former Hills star told People that her new life with Camden is “exciting and rewarding.”

“It was the most incredible moment I’ve ever felt,” she says. “With Camden, I’ve realized what really matters. We’re a family.”

Kristin announced her pregnancy in January, shortly after becoming reengaged to Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler. The reality star  made the most of her nine months, flaunting a fabulous maternity wardrobe and  sending fun almost-mom tweets.  We look forward to checking out her new mommy style and wish good luck to the new family!

Wednesday, The Hills star Kristin Cavallari sent a tweet announcing the birth of her son, Camden Jack Cutler. Cavallari reported that the newborn, weighing 7 pounds and 9 ounces, was doing well.

This is the first child for Cavallari and her fiance, Chicago Bears quarterback  Jay Cutler. The two announced the pregnancy in January, which shocked anyone following their roller-coaster of a relationship.  The couple was scheduled to wed in summer 2011, but Cutler called off the engagement in July. That September, Cavallari competed in Dancing With the Stars with Cutler watching from the audience. Two months later, they were reengaged.

Although the pregnancy was a surprise, Cavallari handled it well. In an interview with Glamaholic, she said she enjoyed her pregnancy and experienced few negative symptoms. Hopefully, parenting will come with the same ease.

Oops! Looks like Kristin Cavallari’s fiancé Jay Cutler might want to tell his Chicago Bears teammates to keep their mouths shut. According to PEOPLE, the couple didn’t want to share their baby-to-be’s gender. But Jay’s Bears teammate, Earl Bennett spilled the beans on the Boers & Bernstein sports radio show in Chicago. He told the radio hosts, “He’s having a boy. I am excited for Jay. It’s a great time.” Doesn’t seem like a big deal to some, but most of us have specific ideas of how and when we want to share baby news.

It’s probably really common for this to happen now — especially with Facebook and Twitter. We’ve heard of friends of expecting mamas congratulating them on Facebook before they wanted all their online friends to know they were pregnant. Or what about future grandmas calling everyone in their address books, while the news was still supposed to be a secret? The list goes on and on.
